Cancellation and Late Arrival Policies
I understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In my desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
A minimum 36 hour advance notice is required when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give 36 hours advance notice you will be charged the full amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” You will be charged for your “missed” appointment. For current clients, if you have more than one no-show, you will no longer be eligible for appointments. First time clients who are no-shows are no longer eligible for any future appointments.
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, I will determine if there is enough time remaining to start treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment session actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session time rate you originally booked. This means if you are one-half hour late to a 90 minute session, you will be charged for the 90 minute session. Out of respect and consideration to your therapist and other customers, please plan accordingly and be on time.
Inclement weather conditions cancellation policy
During periods of ice, snow and excessive high winds (50+mph), I would prefer that both my clients and myself remain safer by not traveling in poor weather conditions. I certainly would not be happy if a client injured themselves trying to make it to a session. Also, if I was to become injured in an accident, this would be a loss of future income for myself and my family. Portland is known for "shutting down" when snow falls as the snow often becomes wet & then begins to freeze as ice on the roads. The ice is not always visible under a thin layer of snow, but it is there and can be deadly. Many drivers feel confident their four or all wheel drive vehicle will be fine to maneuver through the snow to later learn this is not the case. I would prefer my clients stay safe, warm and dry and neither of us be the recipient of a slip and fall or motor vehicle accident, whether at fault or not. Therefore, the 36 hour minimum cancellation notice policy is not in effect during times of inclement weather in the Portland metro area. I will always attempt to reach my clients via phone, email or both during winter weather conditions, unless loss of power or other weather related problems prevent me from contacting you. Please feel free to call or email me if you have concerns driving from a distant location, as I know outlying areas may be at higher elevations and have increased snowfall, wind, etc. Thank you for your understanding.
